Abstract
The paper is devoted to the problem of choosing the proper form of operators upon fuzzy sets for the purposes of labeling fuzzy images. The union and intersection operators are considered. Based on some general properties of partitions, a criteria for selecting such operators is proposed and different combinations of fuzzy properties in the labeling process are considered
