Abstract
An inline, four-cylinder, double-acting Stirling engine with a four-quadrant heater and combustion chamber is discussed. The crankcase is pressurized and oil-free due to the use of sealed antifriction bearings. The engine shows the potential to be a reliable, high-efficiency, high-density machine that should require infrequent overhauls. For the demands of extremely long life, linear alternators are being considered
