Abstract :
Indonesia is situated at region with relative high keraunic level in the world. It is often reported that a lot of energy exploration companies in the region suffer from interference effects of the tropical atmospheric electricity as false alarm in companies´ instrumentation system leading to malfunction. This paper presents an integrated framework of lightning protection system for instrumentation systems of geothermal power plant. The proposed framework is based on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and derived from our best practice in the field, which is proven as failure-free during period of relative high lightning activity.
