Abstract :
In this paper, we present an indoor localization scheme which is built for location-based services for context-aware applications in health-care. We set forth from our earlier work on localization using RSSI which employs range-based estimation algorithm. To circumvent the unreliability of RSSI, we explored a weighted range-free estimation algorithm. The results show that range-free estimation provides an adequate accuracy and at the same time alleviates the laborious offline measurements required by the popular range-based algorithms. We discuss some features, experiences and preliminary measurements here. The ideas presented in this paper are expected to open up the multitude of further work in the field of localization
