Abstract :
A novel approach has been proposed to expand the possibility of high-density converter design. The approach is based on series-parallel connection of low-power isolated dc-dc converters. A DC 384V DC 384 V 2.4-kW isolated converter with 10 W/cm3 has been fabricated, and experimental results have been shown to confirm the validity of the proposed approach. An advanced approach to achieve more than 10 W /cm3 is also proposed on the basis of the series-parallel connection topology. Highly integrated dc-dc converters based on the integrated circuit technology contribute to achieving future higher density high-power converter design.
