Abstract
This paper presents an analytical framework for interference analysis in unslotted packet radio networks employing BPSK modulation. An accurate mathematical model that tracks the joint variations of the multiple access interference appearing at the postdetection filter over all bits of a test packet is formulated. The performance of the unslotted system is quantified by considering an equivalent slotted system that experiences the same amount of effective interference, where the latter is computed from the short term average interference experienced by all bits of the packet. Closed form expressions for the corresponding packet error probabilities are
