Abstract :
An Ultra Wideband (UWB) microstrip antenna consisting of a circular monopole patch with stepped feedline, with a 10dB return loss bandwidth from 3.50 to 11.20 GHz and maximum VSWR of 1.07 is proposed. This antenna was designed on Rogers 5880 printed circuit board (PCB) with overall size of 31.17 × 40 × 0.787 mm3 and dielectric substrate εr = 2.2. This antenna operated at UWB frequency and it designed by using CST Software based on the 50Ω characteristic impedance for the transmission line model. The antenna yielded a doughnut shaped radiation pattern throughout the UWB frequency band.
