Abstract :
A detail inhomogeneous multilayer skin model consists of Asian hair is developed. The Asian hair is modeled as a circular cone with basic radius of 100 μm, and the Cole-Cole equation is applied for estimating the dielectric properties of hair at 60 GHz in the skin model. To simulate the effect of millimeter wave radiation to human body, a radiation source generated by a 60 GHz co-planar waveguide (CPW) fed bowtie aperture antenna is used. This study is formulated by using finite element method (FEM); the electromagnetic field distribution, the induced SAR in the skin layers and blood vessel are investigated. Results have shown that more hair on the skin would decrease the induced specific absorption rate (SAR) in blood vessel in the study presented herein.
