Abstract :
The identification of Chinese seal imprints is addressed. In seal identification the foundation rests on two points: one is the characteristic features of the seal and the other is the spatial relation of strokes of the seal. A discussion is presented of current identification methods, and computational methods are proposed which could solve large-scale problems involving thresholding, rotation thinning, reexpansion, and matching of seal images
