Abstract
In the design of a fuzzy logic controller for a process an important problem is the construction of the rule base of the controller. This paper describes a new method for constructing the rule base automatically. The method is based on the tabu search algorithm which is a general heuristic procedure for guiding search in a complex search space to find global optimal solutions for difficult problems
