Abstract :
We introduce a new technique for bathymetry in turbid water, which consists of a remotely delivered opto-acoustic pulse to the water surface and interferometric detection of the reflected acoustic wave at the water surface. We discuss theoretical models and experimental results for the pulse-generation and the detection systems.
