Abstract
This paper deals with the development and the metrological management of an acquisition system that has been developed for monitoring an experimental photovoltaic (PV) plant. The main targets are the comparison among the performance of different photovoltaic technologies and the verification of the nominal specifications of the employed PV modules. For these reasons, the traceability of the measurements the monitoring system provides has to be ensured, therefore it has to be periodically calibrated. A remotely-exercised procedure is proposed for the calibration of the acquisition system, which is based on a calibrator specifically designed for this application. A peculiarity of the developed calibrator is the possibility to act as a reference for heterogeneous quantities, such as electrical quantities, temperature and irradiance.
