Abstract
According to the sparsity nature of SAR images, the enhancement of the resolution of objects is investigated. Ideal SAR images may be modeled as a small number of dominant scatterers in a nearly black background. Therefore, sparse statistical distributions should be considered to model the complex-valued SAR images. With a statistical perspective, we follow the MAP criterion and present models to enhance the resolution of objects in SAR images. And an iterative algorithm is presented. Numerical simulations using MSTAR data demonstrate the effective performance of resolution enhancement and the computational efficiency.
