Abstract :
A novel dual-mode and dual-frequency microstrip-antenna is presented. It is based on ordinary coplanar coupled microstrip-antenna, with the patch connected to the ground plane by a copper post at the center, so as to get a kind of symmetry. Then the novel antenna can operate on S-band with monopole pattern and C-band with the original radiation pattern unchanged. Simulation results also prove the properties of the novel antenna.
