Abstract :
The false lock margin in the GSTDN PM (phase modulation) mode of the Shuttle S-band transponder is considered. The block diagram of the acquisition circuit in the transponder is described, and the GSTDN mode is discussed in detail. The equivalent circuit of the acquisition circuit is provided for the analysis. The system parameters related to the acquisition process are presented for reference. An estimate of the acquisition false lock margin for this mode is given.<>
