Abstract
The stator current minimization in an induction machine vector controlled is presented in this paper. The current minimization is done by adjusting the rotor flux level of the induction machine to an optimal value as a function of the operating conditions. The rotor flux is obtained using the Rosenbrok Algorithm. The rotor flux is no more constant as it is the case in the conventional vector control, but it evolves according to the operating point. The theoretical results obtained from the simulation of the optimization method, carried out in the Matlab/Simulink environment, are presented at the end of this paper. These results are compared to those resulting from constant flux operation and show substantial improvement.
