Abstract :
This paper addresses the problem of optimal operation planning of industrial power systems (IPS) considering the enhanced opportunities due to the liberalized energy markets. Therefore, the IPS is modeled as an independent power producer (IPP) particularly taking into account: the economic and technical assessment of spot transactions at an energy exchange considering wheeling tariffs; the operational restrictions of industrial combined heat and power (CHP) plants; and the application of industrial load management obtaining greater flexibility of energy consumption and generation. The paper presents the mathematical model representing IPS to formulate the optimization problem and gives exemplary case study results
