  • Abstract
    Nonreciprocal effect of transverse-magnetized ferromagnetic-metal-on-amplifier magnetooptical waveguides was numerically studied using the finite-difference beam-propagation method. It was shown that these waveguides can be used to obtain a monolithically integrated optical isolator. A detailed description and analysis of such an integrable isolator with better than 25 dB isolation ratio and low insertion loss in the 1.5 μm wavelength region is given
