  • Abstract
    This paper gives an explanation of the DVCPRO compression algorithm emphasizing its benefits and highlighting the compatibility with DVCPRO50 Mbps. In addition it explains how DVCPRO25 and DVCPRO50 can be utilized in a total digital broadcast system, capable of handling both 25 Mbps and 50 Mbps compression signals on a common interface, server and archive system. The importance of the seamless switch capability, without any picture degradation, is also presented
