Abstract
In view of the road header machine energy consumption and the load fluctuation question, the probabilistic perturbation method and the Edgeworth series technique are employed to devise a practical and effective method for the reliability optimization design for cutting head with non normal distribution parameters on condition that the first four moments of basic random variables are known. The optimized result indicated: load fluctuation and specific energy consumption of cutting head obtains obviously reduces, enhanced mechanical working reliability and energy utilization efficiency of road header.
