Abstract
Error spectrum shaping (ESS) is a technique for shaping the quantization noise in digital filter structures. This technique is shown to be easily applicable to oversampled Σ-Δ type analog-digital converters. The application of the ESS technique to first-order and second-order Σ-Δ converters as well as MASH topology is demonstrated. The effects of nonideal capacitor values and finite amplifier gains in switched capacitor (SC) implementations are analyzed
