Research on Shenzhen university-industry cooperation based on patent data analysis

University-industry cooperation has been focused because it improves innovation ability of enterprises and regions. Patent data can be used to analyze university-industry cooperation. The paper uses Shenzhen patent data from 2001 to 2008 to measure Shenzhen university-industry cooperation. By carefully data disposition, we get patent data records representing Shenzhen university-industry cooperation. Through visual identification method of social network analysis, this paper describes the situation of Shenzhen university-industry cooperation. On the one hand, we visualize unit cooperation to analyze how universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises co-work to innovate. On the other hand, we analyze cooperation from patent classification angel. In virtue of different angels of researches, the paper acquires cooperation microstructure to some extent. These findings can be used to measure municipal university-industry cooperation.
