Abstract :
Separable-denominator two-dimensional (SD-2D) adaptive filters are realized in the lattice-form and in the direct-form. The stability test for these SD-2D adaptive filters can be simplified to that for one dimensional (1D) recursive filters. Improvements of SD-2D adaptive filters over a nonrecursive 2D adaptive filter are shown by the experiments on 2D system identifications. Moreover, it is shown by experiments on noise reduction that the lattice-form SD-2D adaptive filter is superior to the direct-form counterpart
