Abstract
Transportation noise reduction is of major concern of environmental research. As regards the railway, high speed creates new noise sources. This paper describes an acoustic moving sources study. Localization methods using microphones arrays provide the position, acoustic power, and the spectrum of the sources. The proposed method computes the directivity pattern of the sources and gives a time-frequency representation of the emitted signal while the sources pass the measurement point. Experiments are carried out to characterize acoustic sources of a high speed train (TGV) in real operating conditions
