Abstract
This paper describes simple and efficient method for power system overloads and voltage limit violations alleviation. The advantages of active power-bus angle and reactive power-voltage magnitude decoupling principles to obtain savings in computational time and storage are considered. The decomposed approach involves the solution of an optimization problem without constraints followed by the solution of a corrective active and reactive power rescheduling in a separate and sequential form. The proposed algorithm gives satisfactory results in the alleviation of overloads and voltage limit violations when tested on two sample test power systems
