Abstract :
This paper presents a novel diagnosis method combining element-oriented Petri nets with temporal order information. With the use of element-oriented Petri nets with time-stamp, the proposed method models the protection system philosophy of crucial elements in power system, such as transmission lines, buses and transformers. The advantages of the approach involve the following aspects: Firstly, the diagnosis model is easy to recognize the causality between data. Secondly, element-oriented Petri nets are employed to deal with a problem of combination explosion and a procedure of modeling is easier. Thirdly, the temporal order information could be utilized totally and properly so that the inaccurate information would be eliminated, and the accuracy of diagnosis would be improved and the processing on the same breakers with different results corresponding to different temporal order information would have satisfactory effectiveness. Moreover, case studies verified the validity of both the diagnosis model and method, as well as the potential of their application into fault diagnosis.
