Abstract

A software framework has been developed to meet the needs of digital consumer electronics, such as Digital TV, mobile phone and car AV equipment. This framework named “Embedded-Media Framework” offers improvements in software development efficiency leading to shorter development time and enhanced software quality, thus easy to adjust to a new field for various digital consumer electronics. The framework consists of the common function specification and equipment oriented chain specification. The chain specifications are defined for Digital TV live-play, recording and Internet media playback functions. In this paper, we intend to explain the evaluation for the digital TV live-play functionality based on this framework.
