Abstract :
A simulation study done on a mathematical model of the human arterial system from the heart to the eye and the brain is presented. Pressure changes in the eye over time were investigated to delineate cerebral lesions that may be indicators of progressive brain death. It is shown that an inverse relationship exists between intracranial pressure (ICP) and the intraocular pressure (IOP). IOP changes have been found to be a reliable indicator of brain death and may help in early noninvasive diagnosis of this condition
