Abstract :
We design and implement a web-based open laboratory information management platform called WOLIMP which is an integrated portal and enables users to better understand the open laboratory´s comprehensive overview, research projects and results. WOLIMP provides an effective news management, application and review issues, laboratory document management, dynamic catalog management, and user-access control management as well. WOLIMP offers a comprehensive overview of the research projects and results of laboratory. Users are able to create personal space which is autonomously managed. They are also allowed to express their options and show their academic views on academic research. By using OOAD, we design the whole system and complete UML diagrams. Finally we implement the system using J2EE and SQL Server 2005. It achieves functions such as releasing laboratory arrangements, dissemination and application information of open issues, and the display of the results. The system has a friendly interface and improves the management level of open laboratory.
