Abstract
The scheduling of distributed real-time systems, which has a wide range of applications in industrial control, has received considerable attention. The paper is intended to investigate the scheduling of a distributed real-time system among which activities may possess dependency. A multi-node scheduling model for distributed real time systems is presented. The model is event-based, each event being characterized by a time-value function which indicates the event´s importance and urgency. Based on the multi-node scheduling model, an efficient scheduling algorithm is developed which employs the policy “best effort first”
