  • Abstract
    The concepts of organizational support (OS), organizational commitment (OC) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) have aroused great interests among scholars since they were introduced. However, most of the research on them is either based on western culture or taking company employees as the research object. There have been insufficient studies on university faculty members. Study on organizational citizenship behavior of university faculty members not only contribute to the effectiveness of universities, but also help solve other problems the education sector facing. From this perspective, this paper takes university faculty members as our research focus to explore the relationship among OS, OC and OCB. Extant literature shows that OS and OC have significant influence on OCB. To see if OS and OC have significant influence on OCB in the particular background and particular culture, based on previous literature, this research has conducted a questionnaire survey among university faculty members. The result of the statistical analysis indicates a positive relationship between OS and OCB. It also shows that OC is a mediator between OS and OCB of university faculty members. In the last part of the paper, suggestions according to the research findings in hope that university human resource policies can be made or modified accordingly.
