  • Abstract
The development is described of a PC-based system for stimulus generation, recording, storing, and presentation for use in the execution of binaural hearing experiments. The system uses a multitasking polyFORTH language/operating system and incorporates a Texas Instruments TMS320C25 digital signal processor board in the IBM-PC/AT. The software design permits playing of arbitrary waveform length (currently limited by DOS memory), using a minimum amount of digital signal processing memory, and independence from a particular hardware configuration. The multitasking nature of polyFORTH allows for the easy connection of a second terminal to interact with the subject
