Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze and design an electromagnetic linear actuator of active linear absorber (ALA) system for vehicle vibration reduction. An ALA system is one of the effective methods to reduce vibration generated by engine. It generates the counter force to cancel abnormal vibration generated when the variable cylinder is working. So, to reduce the engine vibration efficiently, fast response, wide range of frequency and large excitation force are required. In this research, we present an electromagnetic linear actuator for the ALA system. The performance of the electromagnetic actuator was verified by experimentation and finite element analysis(FEA).
