Abstract :
This paper describes the handovers and its functions used by the roaming user in both homogeneous and heterogeneous network. There are more limitations in Quality of Services and Security issues. To overcome the limitations proper handovers with sufficient mechanisms to be used for secured communication. The metrics are the bandwidth, Received Signal Strength (RSS) and user preferences of the coverage area. The algorithm can reduce the unnecessary handoff probability because of the RSS temporarily dropping down. By adopting few mechanisms, algorithms and standards the requirements of quality of services and security issues are enhanced larger and being used for fast and secure transmission by the roaming users.
