Abstract
An n-bit ternary algorithm developed for analog-digital (A/D) conversion is also found suitable for digital-analog (D/A) conversion. The three logic states of 0, 1, and 2 of the ternary code are realized by window scanning the input using a current mode technique. Design is supported by an experimental flash converter. Some other variants of the algorithm are proposed
