Abstract :
This paper proposes a digitally controlled DC-DC buck converter with bang-bang control in 0.18μm BCDMOS technology. It has advantages of digital circuit and hysteresis control. The converter includes a 6-bit SAR ADC, 6-bit DPWM, analog dead-time & driver circuits, and proposed bang-bang control block. The converter occupies an area of 2.35mm2, and it operates with a fixed switching frequency of 1MHz. The input voltage ranges from 1.8V to 4V. The output voltage is 1.2V. The power efficiency of 77.4% is achieved at the output current of 199mA. The output ripple voltage is 1.6mV.
