Abstract :
Mathematical model of melting problem of phase change material (PCM) in cool storage tank was established. Moreover, the effective heat capacity method was used to simulate the heat transfer processes of cool storage tank, the changing relation curves of melting ratio, temperature and the diameter of cool storage tank along with time were obtained. The results show that the time of the ambulatory melting is shorter than the fixed melting by 7.65%, the difference between solid and liquid densities have a relatively great influence on the thermal performance of discharging processes of cool storage systems. In addition, it was valuable in improving design and reducing the loss of cool storage system.
