Abstract
In a narrowband cellular mobile radio system, the speech quality can be improved by the use of space diversity at the base station site. The required antenna separation is determined by the correlation coefficient between the two fading received signals. Diversity reception may be necessary in the future due to the increasing use of hand portable units. A description is given of the cross correlation measurements obtained by a series of field trials
