Abstract :
Condition based maintenance is a precautionary operation specific to equipment condition, which not only can reduce maintenance cost, but also improve power service reliability and equipment availability. Its advantages have been popularly recognized by power utilities. However, the development of condition-based maintenance is unequal, and the understanding there of remains to be uniformed. Therefore, this paper firstly explains the definition and connotation of condition- based maintenance, and then, introduces the development of condition based maintenance of power supply equipment, and conducts an analysis for its development in our country in combination with our own practice in this regard, summarizing the experiences. Finally, practical strategies are advanced for condition-based maintenance of power supply equipment and their significance
