Abstract
This paper proposes a new technique of suppressing the torque ripple and speed fluctuation in brushless DC motors with trapezoidal-shaped back-EMF. Starting from the model of BLDCM, this paper analyzes the factors influencing the electromagnetic torque, and applies optimal control on the stator currents to realize the precise control of motor speed. Extensive simulation results have proved the superiority of the proposed method beyond the Kalman filter algorithm in a wide range of speed.
