Abstract
This paper presents the behavior of a grounding mesh in presence of a high-frequency overvoltage transient caused by switch closing in electrical substations and atmospheric discharges. The simulation of the mesh is based on Transmission Line Method (TLM). The output of the simulation is the sum of induced and conducted currents caused by such high-frequency overvoltage input in some spot of the mesh. Thin wires are represented by nodes developed by Naylor and Christopoulos.
