Abstract
This paper deals with the comparison of the modeling and performances of a 12/8 dual channel switched reluctance generator (DCSRG) including mutual coupling under different operation modes. Firstly, the flux patterns of DCSRG under different excitation modes are illustrated and compared. Then the dynamic models are described for DCSRG operating under single channel mode and dual channel mode in which the mutual coupling is also condidered. The effects of mutual coupling on the dynamic and steady state performances for a DCSRG under different operation modes are also predicted and compared. Finally, an experimental laboratory setup are built, and the simulation and experimental results are also compared in DCSRG systems under different operation modes to verify the proposed modeling and analysis.
