Abstract :
A discussion is presented of the problem of congestion caused by the lack of radio frequency channels available for land mobile use, relative to the demand. A brief history of radio spectrum use is followed by a discussion of the present situation with regard to land mobile radio. Techniques to improve spectrum efficiency are discussed
