Abstract :
The international standard IEC61850 defines all kinds of communication performance parameters among logic nodes in substations by PICOM, which is the foundation to evaluate the performance of substation automation systems. In the field of communication network protocol analysis, the Stochastic Petri Nets (SPN) is gradually applied widely. Colored stochastic Petri nets (CSPN) has more abstract description capability than stochastic Petri nets. It´s very fit for description to many types of PICOM and messages in IEC61850. The paper presents calculation methods with the expanded CSPN model for real-time performance analysis based on PICOM method. Also focuses on the real-time performance analysis of protocol IEC 61850. The real-time performance of protocols is a synthesis guideline related to many performance parameters such as net response time, net delay and throughput. So how to calculate all kinds of real-time performance parameters accurately and simply is the key point
