Abstract :
The authors describe two methods to enhance the performance of digital mobile cellular systems. First, micro/macro overlay cell structures are proposed and investigated from the aspects of capacity and link control. Increased capacity is realized and control channel structures are detailed. Next, an effective channel assignment procedure is proposed and evaluated for a system overlay structure from the aspects of loss probability and control load
