Abstract :
We developed a magnetic field analysis method for interior permanent magnet (IPM) motors driven by the voltage source using the three dimension finite element method (3-D FEM) with prismatic elements. In this paper the accuracy and the calculation time are compared between the results with prismatic elements and those with tetrahedral elements, quantitatively.
