Abstract :
We proposed a new dynamic SPECT quantification method for estimating the time-varying activity in conventional rotating camera systems with a step-and-shot protocol. Despite the limitations of low counts and projection inconsistency, the proposed method provided a procedure for quantifying activity changes with time, and introduced a simple way to reconstruct the tomographic images free from the influence of the artifact induced by activity variation in time. The method was verified from projection data of digital phantoms simulated with attenuation effect and low counts. The preliminary result showed that the proposed method can recover the TAC with good accuracy.
