Abstract :
The evaluation of ultrasonic cavitation yield is difficult because the cavitation effect has non-linear characteristics. In this study, as a fundamental research for the evaluation of cavitation yield, the acoustic characteristics of the bubble cloud were analyzed by measuring the attenuation in the bubble cloud. First, we cause cavitation using a concave-type single ultrasonic transducer. Subsequently, we transmit the 2.25 MHz ultrasound beam across the center of the bubble cloud. Under all sonication conditions, the attenuation was increased with an excellent correlation coefficient (0.7197, 0.8544, 0.8469, and 0.7795) in proportion to the rise in sonication intensity. Based on these results, we believe that this relationship is useful for evaluating cavitation yields.
