Abstract :
This paper presents work towards the development of an accurate binocular eye tracking system for 3DTV-Applications. For that to happen, virtual modeling of eye tracking data is prepared. The model is based on defined suitable parameters considering a wide range of complex influencing factors from the distinctive binocular use case. This work in progress presentation is concluded by results of an initial study with a prototypical eye tracking system. Here, virtual camera images of virtual eyes are processed instead of real camera recordings. The results show that based on a standard binocular infrared gaze tracking setup the virtual modeling is useful to explore general limitations and may accelerate the development process towards more precise and accurate binocular eye tracking systems.
