Title :
Electrical performance of cover-up equipment
Author :
Gela, George ; Kolcio, Nestor
Abstract :
This paper discusses technical issues that prevent the use of commercially available cover-up equipment at voltage levels of 115 kV through 230 kV. Technical assessment of cover-up equipment is presented, and suggestions for extending the use of such equipment to higher voltages are included. Difficulties encountered when arbitrarily extending test methods developed for existing equipment to higher-voltage equipment are described, and modifications to the test methods that help alleviate the difficulties are suggested
